Be inspired. Be informed. Be motivated.
The lessons and the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen are so much more than a page out of a WWII history book… they are an example of how to overcome any obstacle and triumph over your own adversities. The RISE ABOVE: Red Tail outreach program brings this important message to audiences and classrooms around the country, aiming to ignite the fire within us all to achieve our very best.
The CAF Red Tail Squadron’s RISE ABOVE: Red Tail program consists of:
- The RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit 53’ mobile theater featuring the original panoramic film “Rise Above”
- A fully restored WWII-era P-51C Mustang, the signature aircraft of the Tuskegee Airmen
- Resources for educators featuring free activities and presentations for teachers and youth leaders, and an annual essay contest for students
The foundation of the RISE ABOVE: Red Tail outreach program is the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s Six Guiding Principles: Aim High, Believe In Yourself, Use Your Brain, Be Ready To Go, Never Quit and Expect to Win. These principles are based on the experiences and successes of the Tuskegee Airmen, and play a starring role in the group’s outreach efforts.
