The Red Tail Project offers our sincere thanks to the Broward County Boys & Girls Clubs, Ft Lauderdale, FL. who contributed $69,500.00

The Red Tail Project continues despite the tragic loss of the P-51C TUSKEGEE Airmen. "The Red Tail Project is not about an airplane; the airplane is a tool we use to tell a story. We will continue our work to tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and what they represent" said Doug Rozendaal, Red Tail Project Director. "The airplane, however, was an important tool and we intend to rebuild it."

The Red Tail Project Board has set an ambitious goal of raising $2.0 million dollars to expand the Education program and to also rebuild the P-51C, the symbol of the program. As of November 1, 2004 we have raised $125,000 towards this goal.

Donations to the Red Tail Project are tax-deductible contributions to the Red Tail Project of the American Airpower Heritage Foundation, Inc. , a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. All funds raised for the project are dedicated to be used only for the educational outreach program of the project and the maintenance and operation of the P-51C aircraft.

As the Red Tail Project continues to make significant progress in the restoration of its flagship P-51C, the urgency for increased funding and sponsorship dollars is becoming increasingly vital.

Rebuilding the aircrafts wing sections is the projects most acute need and is quickly becoming the critical path. Because of the estimated 8 month production time for a set of wings and an increasing backlog for the wing jig, each day that passes without funding exponentially moves out the date we can have the Mustang airborne as time slots for the jig fill in ahead of us.
