The Commemorative Air Force’s AIRSHO, is an Airshow held at Midland International Airport in Midland, Texas. The CAF’s first AIRSHO was held in 1963, making it one of the oldest Airshows in the country. AIRSHO is also known as “The Best Warbird Show in America.” The CAF currently has 164 warbird aircraft in the fleet, many of which attend AIRSHO. For a list of aircraft schedule to appear, click here.
In addition to one of the most impressive flying displays of vintage military aircraft, you’ll also see some of the most popular civilian aerobatic performers. AIRSHO offers visitors a chance to get close to the aircraft and see them perform in ways you won’t experience anywhere else. Both the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s P-51C Mustang and the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit will be on display.
In addition to dazzling display of aircraft, you want to be sure to watch the CAF’s Pyrotechnic Groups, the “Blastards” and “EOD” (Explosive Ordnance Detachment) . These award-winning groups of licensed pyrotechnic technicians shake the ground with simulated bombing raids, strafing runs and the infamous “wall of fire.” Watch history come alive before your very eyes (and ears!).
Plans are underway for the CAF Red Tail Squadron to visit Camp Hearne at 12424 Camp Hearne Third Street, Hearne, Texas 77859. We will release more information, as it becomes available. In the meantime, get your organization or group together and we can schedule a time for your RISE ABOVE Experience.

Numerous static aircraft, vehicles displays and information booths representing local, regional and national members of the aviation and transportation community will be available to everyone attending this dynamic educational experience.
Be sure to sign–up your school today and be a part of this exciting and educational event. See you in October at the Aviation & Transportation Career Expo!
