Ypsilanti, Michigan - April 24 - May 1

In late April the aircraft traveled to Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan to meet an old friend named Burt Lowe. Burt met pilot Don Hinz and Tuskegee Airmen at YipsalantiPeachtree Dekalb airport in Atlanta on Memorial Day weekend in 2002. CNN TV commentator, Miles O'brien flew with Don in Tuskegee Airmen in a Memorial Day event honoring the Tuskegee airmen.

Burt's grandson, Keynan Jackson was inspired by airmen from the local Tuskegee Airmen chapter and with help from the local chapter and The Atlanta Flying Mentors was pursuing a flying career. Keynan and Tuskegee Airmen Charles "A-Train" Dryden later appeared on CNN's national TV program that highlighted the educational efforts of the Airmen and the Flying Mentors who presented Keynan as a product of their mentoring efforts.

Keynan will be getting his flying license soon and credits the airmen role modeling for inspiring him to continue with school and inspiring him to fly. YipsalaniThe associated graduation notice tells us how much influence we have had on Keynan's life.

Burt is a retired teacher from Wastenaw Community College in Ypsilanti and wished to inspire his students with the Airmen's history and success. "A-Train" gave an inspiring presentation to the students and the Wastenaw community with the aircraft in the background.

These types of appearance's for the aircraft don't always reap immediate benefits but as in Keynans case prove to be very instrumental as people continue to work for their goals and realize their dreams.
