The Red Tail Projects Mission

The Red Tail Project is a non-profit organization whose mission is to tell the inspiring story of America's first black fighter pilots, the Tuskegee Airmen. How these individuals overcame adversity and fought for victory at home and abroad during World War II is an important chapter in our nation's history.

Our main objectives are three-fold:

To Provide

educational materials and innovative ideas for today's teachers so their students can become motivated by these heroes/role models to accomplish more than they ever thought possible. The Red Tail Project also facilitates school presentations with the Airmen.

To Develop

a traveling museum in the form of an exhibition trailer that tells the Tuskegee Airmen's stories. This museum will be focused toward youth - specifically, at-risk youth.

To Restore

a vintage P-51C Mustang to become a flying tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. This airplane is painted to represent the Tuskegee Airmen squadrons.
